Terms & conditions

Unless stated otherwise in writing, Munay Event Catering services are governed by these Terms & Conditions and the Event Agreement.

Payment of any Event Catering fees or charges will be considered as acknowledgement and acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.

Staff Charges

Staff charges include travel time to and from the venue within the Byron Bay area and are included in the initial quote. These charges are estimates and may vary depending on the final menu, guest count, venue needs, and event duration. Additional staff requirements will incur extra costs. If guest numbers fall below the agreed minimum, staff charges will still apply. Charges are based on an estimated staff time of about 9 hours. If the event extends beyond this time, additional charges will apply according to Munay Event Catering’s payment terms.

Guest Numbers

Minimum guest numbers must be confirmed 7 days before the event. Munay Event Catering reserves the right to revise the quote if this number changes. If confirmation is not received at least 7 days before the event, the numbers specified in the Event Agreement will be considered final.

Additional Meals

Meals for entertainers, photographers, and videographers are available upon request at the same rate as for guests. Alternate meal options can be arranged if requested. These meals will be served after the main guest meals.

Dietary Requirements

While we aim to accommodate special dietary needs, we cannot guarantee that meals will be completely free from traces of nuts, dairy, gluten, or other allergens.

Food

Food provided as part of a package remain the property of Munay Event Catering until consumed. We cannot provide leftover food unless fully paid for.

Payment

To secure the event date, a 25% non-refundable deposit must be made upon signing the Event Agreement.

For events booked less than 21 days in advance, a minimum payment of 75% is required at booking.

50% of the total cost is due 30 days before the event, with the remaining balance due no later than 7 days before the event.

Additional expenses will be invoiced within 14 days.

Cancellations

To cancel or postpone your event, notify Munay in writing. The full deposit will be forfeited for cancellations.

Cancellations made within 14 days of the event incur a charge of 100% of the event cost; within 30 days, 50%; and more than 30 days prior, 25%.

If Munay Event Catering is unable to fulfil the contract due to circumstances beyond its control, we will be released from the contract without penalty.

Responsibility for Damage

Munay Event Catering and its employees are not liable for any loss or damage sustained by the Client or guests, except in cases of Munay’s negligence. The Client is responsible for covering any damage or loss to Munay’s or the venue’s property during the event.

Disorderly Conduct

Munay Event Catering does not tolerate any disorderly, offensive, or inappropriate behaviour.

Safety & Hygiene

The Client is responsible for ensuring that children and guests stay away from hot or hazardous equipment. Munay Event Catering is not liable for any damage or injury resulting from non-compliance. Pets and animals must be kept away from food preparation and serving areas to meet hygiene and safety regulations.
